The Elks National Foundation’s “Most Valuable Student 2025” Competition is underway! The 2025 Most Valuable Student application is available at https://www.elks.org/scholars/scholarships/MVS.cfm The DEADLINE for application submission is NOVEMBER 12, 2024. The contest is open to high school seniors who are U.S. Citizens that will enroll in a college or university the Fall Semester 2025. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.
Eligibility: Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States are eligible to apply. Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks. High school graduates are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens on the date their application is signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
Awards: The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest- rated applicants in the 2025 competition. Male and female students compete separately. Ranging from $1,000 per year to $7,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university. Over $2,500,000 will be awarded nationally! The Chicago office of the Elks National Foundation will announce the 500 national winners of the 2025 competition in late April 2025. However, our Local Lodge #15, the Washington-Rockville Elks Lodge, will announce our winners in early January, who then move on to the District competition. Those that advance from Districts move to the State competition, and hopefully from State to Nationals. There are typically monetary awards from our Lodge as well as the State and District levels of competition, so there are several opportunities for scholarships other than just the National Competition!
